Health Volunteer – Assistant Nursing Officer Job Vacancies
Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is hiring for 25 health volunteering Assistant Nursing Officers. CCBRT is commonly known by many Tanzanians for bringing great impacts on treatment of fistula.
CCBRT aims to be the leading provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa and serves as healthcare social enterprise and through development programmes in the community and the most vulnerable.
CCBRT is committed to prevent lifelong disabilities caused by different health issues wherever possible. CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities including obstetric fistula repairs as the main activity that represents CCBRT to the community.
CCBRT serves as the Maternity and Newborn referral centre for high risk and emergency deliveries in the region of Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.
In order to strengthen the nursing department, CCBRT is looking for twenty five (25) dynamic and experienced Assistant Nursing officers (Health Volunteer) to provide clinical nursing care at CCBRT in respective allocated area (OPD, IPD or OTD).
Key Responsibilities of Assistant Nursing Officer:
As an assistant nursing officer you will be expected to provide nursing care as per quality, safety regulations and standards including:
- To maintain dignity of patient at all time, ensure all necessary preparations of the patient is done before the patient sees the doctor or goes to consulting rooms/theater.
- You will also be assisting a doctor during patient’s examination and/or surgeries as well as translating information from the patient to doctor from Kiswahili to English and vice versa in case there is a language barrier.
- You will communicate sensitive information concerning patient’s medical condition/counselling patients,
- To perform clinical procedure,
- To ensure proper record keeping on all activities and
- To control patient flow in the clinical area.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
- An applicant must have a diploma in general nursing and Midwifery
- An applicant must have been registered and have a valid licence from Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council
- An applicant must have good communication skills in both English and Swahili
- Flexible, multitasking, pro active and eager to learn.
